Workcamps
ImageThe Workcamp is a leadership and social work seminar, in line with the foundation's efforts to form the youth and to foster their social responsibility. Each workcamp is carried out and financed in cooperation with government units and private entities. The workcampers spend several weeks in selected rural areas where projectrs are initiated depending on the needs of the community.

Image Since 1981, more than 3,300 students and young professionals have participated in 90 workcamps held all over the country. These workcamps have benefitted over 45,000 families in 80 different barangays. Some of the projects undertaken by workcampers in the past years are: construction of a learning center in Batanes; a public school house and waiting sheds in Cebu; a day care center in Negros Occidental; a town library and water tank in Marinduque; low-cost housing units for the poor in Lipa; a school stage in Palawan; and implementation of livelihood projects in South Cotabato.

ImageThe World Bank Institute and the Institute for Solidarity in Asia awarded the Workcamp as the "Longest On-going Project" during the First Responsible Citizenship Fair held in Makati on May 2003. the fair was organized with the support of the National Youth Commission of the Office of the President.

The Foundation also networks with universities and non-government organizations of other countries in organizing social development and small infrastructure projects in the Philippines for foreign students and young professionals. The projects and activities are under the International Volunteers Service Program (IVSP).
